On 09-10 January 2017, Senegal launched its Local Education Group (LEG). The two-day event, supported by UNESCO through its CapED Programme and attended by the Global Partnership for Education, gathered close to 80 participants representing all education stakeholders notably civil society through, among others, parent groups and teacher unions, as well as local authorities and parliamentarians, representatives from twelve ministries and development partners.
